ABOUT US
Mā Te Hapū Anō Te Hapū e Kōrero
Te Whakaaetanga Trust recognises hapū rangatiratanga is paramount in the decision-making process.
Ngā Hapū Te Whakaaetanga have secured a mandate from our hapū members to allow Te Whakaaetanga Trust to act on our behalf. Importantly, this includes presenting a negotiated redress package back to each hapū for approval before signing a Deed of Settlement. This structure ensures transparency and upholds the mana of each hapū.
Mā te hapū anō te hapū e kōrero
Our structure is designed to maintain effective governance, provide expert support, and ensure that the Trust’s work reflects the interests and needs of its members throughout the Treaty settlement process.
Trustees are supported by a dedicated operations team and specialist advisors experienced in Treaty settlement negotiations.
